HyperMap Atlas Scenarios
The HyperMap Atlas can be used as a directory to find specific geo-sites. As well, it can be used to plan a trip (Seattle scenario below) or learn about the geography of a subject (USGS Minerals scenario below).

| Imagine you live there and are meeting a friend coming from Amazon at a wifi cafe, then you are going holiday shopping, for a pizza, and to catch a movie. |
| Find Amazon under Employers.
Click listing to show marker on map. |
| Zoom in to downtown
(Dtown in zoommap below the map). |
| Click Shopping topic and "Show All". |
| View wifi cafes under Services,
click "Central" tab in top bar.
Click "Show All" Services [Internet].
Point at cafes near Amazon.
Pop-up will appear.
Collect by clicking "Add to My List" in pop-up. |
| Repeat with pizza under Food
and movies under Theaters. |
| Click "My List" to view your collection.
Imagine that you could eventually email the
HyperMap Atlas with your My List to your friend. |

| You live far from Seattle and are to visit for a conference at a college. |
| Click "Clear All" to remove previous markers. |
| Click Colleges and find Seattle University
by clicking the alpha bar below the list.
Click listing to locate it on the map.

| Point at landmark icons to learn what are nearby. |
| You want to select a nearby hotel or B&B,
go jogging (Recreation),
and check your email at a wifi cafe (Services).
Click these three topics and
select Central and "Show All" to collect as above.
You can "Hide All" under subtopics to view a
HyperMap of just your selections.
See the collected listings by clicking "My List".
note: the Hotel and B&B pop-ups might eventually
have photos, descriptions, and a reservations form. |
note: The HyperMap Atlas represents the next generation of online mapping; so even with today's higher bandwidth, response in calling up graphics and XML data for topic listings may at first require some patience.

View a type of mine or plant under a topic.
 | See the distribution of Peat under Agricultural in
comparison with that of Ball Clay under Construction.

 | Click Agricultural topic, then Peat tab and "Show All".
Click Construction topic, then Cly tab and "Show All". |
 | Click "Clear All" to remove previous markers. |
 | Then see the distribution of Gold, Silver, and Gems.
note: It may take a bit of time for the api to plot the many markers.
Click Non-Ferrous Mine and
the topbar tab "Au" for Gold, select "Show All".
Then click "Ag" tab for Silver, select "Show All".
Toggle Silver's Hide/Show All to see the relation
between Gold and Silver mines. |
| Click Other topic and "GM" tab in top bar for Gems.
Point at markers to view a pop-up identifying the
type of gem. |
| Use the zoom bar below the map to zoom into
sections of the US for a closer look. |
